The Protector

Another one of the series of personal projects focusing on advanced photo-manipulation in very high resolution trying to capture as much detail as possible in a single picture.

As a big fan of nature and spending time in the mountains this project speaks to me on a very personal level.

The idea for this project came to me while I was hiking in High Tatras in Slovakia in the fall of 2022 and I tried to imagine how beautiful would the mountains be if they were completely covered in snow.

As a big fan of nature I didn’t want the picture to just be the peaks themselves, I wanted to contrast the cold emptiness of winter days where you rarely see any life around other than sleeping trees waiting for the snow to melt.

That’s where the snow leopard came in the picture. I wanted to do something like this for a very long time as I’ve been inspired by many books, movies and video games that featured abnormally sized creatures.

With the idea in my mind I went to the ‘‘drawing board’’ and gave birth to one of my favourite wallpapers that’s ever sat on my desktop. Later after a few adjustments this wallpaper was featured in Steam’s Wallpaper Engine as well where you can still get it.

It’s also available on various other products online.
